Ride-Sharing on the Blockchain
Report Overview
Author: Vineet Narula
Release Date: February 11, 2019
Abstract:
This case study outlines the potential benefits for all stakeholders in the Montreal-based Eva ride-sharing cooperative—car owners, drivers, passengers, and local governments. Based on the EOS blockchain protocols, Eva peer-to-peer transportation is an open-supply system, whereas the taxi and limousine business is a fixed-supply system. Those two models cannot be regulated or run in the same say. This case looks at the tough road ahead for any start-up in such a hypercompetitive market.
