Leading think-tank focused on blockchain technology and its application
The BRI has launched a program investigating how blockchain can help manage pandemics and avoid them in the future.
We bring together Europe’s top industry leaders, academics, policy-makers, entrepreneurs and researchers to undertake ground-breaking research on blockchain technology and to bridge the gap between the technological functionality of blockchain and the real market need. We focus on the strategic implications of blockchain technology on business, government and society in Europe. We provide member organizations with in-depth research exploring the opportunities, challenge and implementation hurdles of blockchain in their industry, as well as the impact of technology on corporate management.
Blockchain is the foundation for the second era of the internet – an internet of value, where anything of value, including money, our identities, cultural assets like music, and even a vote can be stored, managed, transacted, and moved in a secure, private way. Blockchain is poised to transform every industry and managerial function —redefining the way we make transactions, share ideas, and manage workflow.
Funded by a membership consisting of international corporations and government agencies, our research program is founded on 100+ projects documenting the strategic implications of blockchain on business, government and society. Our new program, BRI 2020, introduces new deliverables in addition to our research, designed to help our members not just navigate the blockchain revolution, but lead it.

“Blockchain has the potential to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges — from streamlining trade, to establishing trust in transactions, to tracing provenance for food safety. By working with top experts from around the world, we’ll be able to take full advantage of blockchain’s inherent strengths — an openly-governed, collaborative approach – to make global business more efficient and transparent for consumers.”
